WARDEN TRACKS: The last time I featured these guys (blog #206), I said they “used to be a favourite of mine,” but now that I look back (way back) I can definitively state that they are without a doubt, still one of my all-time fave Rock bands. I’ve been lucky enough to have seen them in concert many times, and they seem to get better with age. The nucleus of The CULT, singer Ian Astbury & guitarist Billy Duffy, has been constant throughout the British act’s timeline, and the other constant is a steady stream of seriously wicked albums that spans 30+ years. Studio album #10 for the band was released two months ago and is another excellent addition to an already stellar discography from one of the most enduring units in the universe of Rock. The title is “Hidden City,” it features all the retro & crunch & mysticism & swagger that makes The Cult so awesome. The first release from the set was “HINTERLAND,” hopefully the band will be touring again soon too.
